Just before James turned one, I was on the hunt for a really good multi-purpose bath toy. I came across the Tomy Aquafun Octopals while searching through Amazon and it had a lot of amazing reviews, so I asked his Granny if she'd like to get it for his birthday.
We've been playing with it for about a month now, and have had endless fun!!
So, I thought I'd do a quick review.
It comes with a green floating island and an orange cup that goes into the centre - this is supposed to be the mummy octopus. There are then eight baby octopuses that sit on the tentacles.
The orange cup has lots of holes in the top, so your baby can fill it up and watch the water pour out.
The baby octopuses can be used in so many different ways:
- As water squirters
- They have suction on the bottom, so can be stuck to the bath or tiles
- They can be hidden under the orange (mummy) cup.
- Each one also has a number on, as do the tentacles on the floating island, so as your baby gets older they can match the numbers up.
- You can teach your baby to place the baby octopuses on the floating island which helps with hand eye co-ordination.
The only downside:
As the baby octopuses are water squirters, they are prone to getting mould. Make sure to squeeze the water out after each use and do regular cleaning to try and keep it at bay,
You can buy it from Amazon here
