As the weather has started to warm up, I'm loving wearing make-up that looks quite simple, but I do still like my foundation to have good coverage and staying power. I also need quite a bit of help to brighten my dark under-eye bags that come from a crappy nights sleep #MumLife
As I've been wanting a slightly heavier foundation I made a trip to Boots to buy an old favourite - Revlon Colorstay For Combination/Oily Skin. When I first started blogging this was THE foundation that almost every blogger/youtuber used. There isn't the greatest range of shades, but it lasts for hours and makes your skin look pretty darn good! I also love the fact that it's only £12.99!! I bought it in Buff (150) and Sand Beige (180). Buff is a much better shade for my skin as it's more yellow toned; it is slightly too pale, but I actually prefer this as I like to contour the sides of my face with Nars Laguna Bronzing Powder so the lighter foundation makes the centre of my face look much brighter!
L'oreal True Match La Touche Magique in Ivory Beige is my go-to highlighter to brighten up any areas that look dull, while Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer helps to hide any blemishes and cover my dark circles.
I then move on to powdering my face with Rimmel's Clear Complexion Transparent Powder - I don't know whether it keeps my skin clear, but it's a good, cheap powder! It gives a soft focus finish to my make-up when applied with a large fluffy brush - I use Sigma's F30. This is a powder I always carry around with me to reset my make-up and get rid of excess oil that builds up throughout the day.
Soap & Glory's Archery Brow Tint and Pencil in Love is Blonde and Maybelline BROWdrama Sculpting Mascara are my go-to brow products at the moment. Archery has two sides - a pen and a soft pencil; it helps you to create the perfect brows that look quite natural. BROWdrama is a tinted brow mascara that sets your brows.
For my eyes I've been using the Too Faced Natural Eyes palette, starting with Heaven under my brow bone and towards my crease. I then like to use Silk Teddy all over the lid, and Push-Up in the outer V. To Line my eyes, I always use my trusty old L'oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim Intense and then I finish off by applying L'oreal's Miss Manga mascara - the wand on this mascara is quite flexible which really helps to coat all the lashes.
For a natural flush, I always go for MAC Well Dressed, but this time I added a little of Nars Orgasm on top! This gave a slight red flush to the cheeks which helps to make you look that little bit more healthy - as if you've been out for a nice country walk!
To give my lips a slightly plumped up look I've been using Prestige Lip Liner in Silk; it's quite a light pink, so not too noticeable but just helps to give a bit of a pout! I also pop on some Lanolips 101 ointment to hydrate and prep my lips for lipstick.
I then like to apply MAC Plink, which is a warm seashell pink that is quite natural looking. It's the perfect lipstick for mum's on the go who don't have time to look in a mirror, 'cause you can't really go wrong with the application of this lipstick!
What make-up do you like wearing for Spring?
