Teeth Brushing Tips for Babies and Toddlers

It's fair to say that when it comes to brushing teeth, the last 6 months have been a battle!

James has never liked having anything put in his mouth. We gave up on the Calpol syringe very early and put it (sugar free version obvs) in a bottle instead. But teeth brushing is not something you can get around.

Quick and Foolproof Fake Tanning Routine

Top 5 Bath Toys

We love bath time in our house and have lots of exciting toys.

But here are five of our favourites that are always getting played with!

Travel High Chair | Polar Gear

Being a keen Jojo Maman Bebe window shopper, I'd seen travel high chairs before and thought they were a fabulous concept - whether you're heading to a friend/relatives house or a restaurant with inadequate high chairs.

We decided on a self catering apartment for our holiday this summer, so thought a travel high chair would be a good idea. You can often rent items when you get to the hotel, but the price would have been the same if not more!

June | The Write-Off

I had so many plans for June...but it's been a total write-off for my blog. It was one of those months where one thing after another happened and I just felt completely overwhelmed!

Koo-Di Sun and Sleep Pop Up Travel Cot

We took our first trip abroad when James was just over 5 months old. As he was still so young I didn't feel comfortable putting him straight in a hotel travel cot, so I scoured the internet for solutions.

Delicious Banana Loaf

I adore cake... If I could eat it every day without gaining a crap-ton of weight, I would!

I'm not overly keen on bananas however, so I wasn't sure how much I was going to like a cake made of them.

But I love it!!

Five Minute Make-Up Routine | Mummy Day

I've got fed up of spending lots of time on make-up, especially when I'm just heading to toddler groups or the park with James.

Here are the products I use when I want a quick and easy look that just gives my face a little radiance, and my eyes some definition.

The Best Cleaning Products

I can sometimes be a tad obsessed with cleaning. I just love to make things look shiny and have the flat smelling beautiful!

Today I thought I'd share my favourite products that make cleaning that little bit quicker and easier!

Why we Love our Artificial Lawn | Namgrass

When deciding what to do with our back garden, we wrote down a list of what we wanted out of the space and how it was going to be used.

I love the look and feel of grass, but the upkeep wasn't something either myself or my husband wanted to make time for. Added to that, we have a dog and a baby; real grass is not always the easiest to clean dog mess off of!

A Stroll Along The Thames

One of the best things about living in London is having so much culture right on your doorstep.

There's something new and interesting to do everyday. You can go back to the same place one hundred times and always have a unique experience.

5 Cheap and Easy Play Ideas for Babies

No matter how many toys you buy your little one, they still end up getting bored of things.

Sometimes it's nice to mix things up with some home made toys and games. Also, as our babies get older it's great to do this because it teaches creativity and more imaginative play!

ELC Wooden Activity Table

A brightly coloured wooden activity table that has lots of different games for your little one.

I wasn't sure whether James really needed an activity table, but while browsing through Mothercare's Sale section I spotted this for half price and couldn't resist... And I am so glad I got it! It's fast become one of our most used toys!

Getting Fit After Pregnancy and Five Best YouTube Workouts

Pregnancy is an amazing and beautiful experience...

But afterwards you're left feeling deflated and saggy (or at least I was). It can be very hard to accept your new body.

April Empties | 2016

I'm not sure whether I've ever written an Empties post, but I definitely used to film them on my YouTube Channel.

If you've not seen a post like this before, it's simply a review of the products you've used up!

Tomy Aquafun Octopals | The Multi-purpose Bath Toy

Just before James turned one, I was on the hunt for a really good multi-purpose bath toy. I came across the Tomy Aquafun Octopals while searching through Amazon and it had a lot of amazing reviews, so I asked his Granny if she'd like to get it for his birthday.

We've been playing with it for about a month now, and have had endless fun!!

So, I thought I'd do a quick review.

Hormonal Changes and Cutting Down Breastfeeding

After I cut back on breastfeeding a couple of months ago, my hormones started causing me a lot of problems! I can be really bitchy at times anyway (sorry Hubby), but these pesky hormones make things a million times worse.

Eating Healthy for Summer

With the weather hotting up I know I'm going to have more skin on show soon, and while I'm happy with my weight, I'm not so happy with all the extra jiggly bits left behind after pregnancy.

I just feel a bit deflated. So, it's time for healthy eating and more exercise!

Here is what I've been eating recently as I've started to try and eat cleaner.

Living with the Mess & Chaos | Mummy Life

I'm quite an organised person who loves a clean and tidy house! But as James has gotten older and more and more on the move...I've had to let go a lot.

I was a bit obsessed at first with constantly cleaning and making things neat. I thought that if people came round and the place looked messy, I'd look like a crappy mum! Being at home to look after your children should surely mean you have all the time in the world to make the place look like a show-home! HA! What an idiot I was.

The Prettiest Nudes | Nail Polish

I always make sure to keep my toe nails painted; it helps to make them look that little bit prettier, because lets face it, most feet are just 'Gah!!'

My finger nails are another story. I'm always using my hands for tasks, so they chip so quickly and I just don't have the time for the upkeep.

But if I do fancy looking a bit more preened, the best choice of polish to go for is a nude. When a nude colour chips it can go unnoticed for a few days - perfect!

Topshop Lust List | May 2016

Today I'm going to share what I've been eyeing up recently..

Top Five Baby Books | One Year Old

Within the couple of weeks after James turned one, I've really noticed a difference in how interested in books he's become. I was a bit worried for a while that he wouldn't sit still to listen to a story and the only way I've been able to keep his attention has been when he's strapped into the high chair.

But...this week he has constantly been bringing me books to read to him and he's actually sat on my lap and listened - absolutely unheard of for James!!

His favourites are all ones that do something interesting and today I thought I'd share them with you!

Quick and Easy Dinners | Baby & Toddler Food

Sometimes I feel very lazy and have absolutely no desire to cook, so having frozen home-made food that can be defrosted quickly is the easiest option!

Batch cooking and then freezing meals into small portions is great for a number of reasons:

Rocker Family | Mummy and Baby Style

Back in June 2009, my husband and I got a day ticket to Download Festival and headed up there together; we got very very drunk, listened to great music and slept in his car - the next morning was horrendous, but the day was amazing and it was the start of us becoming really great friends.

I've always liked rock music but Download re-ignited my love for it! Since then we've gone to countless gigs and festivals, listening to some brilliant bands.

I'd love for James to have the same love for rock/metal music as we do. I play the PG stuff to him (no scary thrash metal or stuff with swearing) and we'll dance around, playing air guitar!

Until he wants to decide what he wears, I'm loving putting him in little rocker outfits. Some of the big high street stores do metal t-shirts or you can find lots of items on eBay.

Setting Goals and Pushing Yourself

Sometimes the things we want we find impossible to achieve because we listen to the doubt in our minds....

'Somebody else is doing it better'

'I don't have the time'

'I'm too tired'

We let our self-doubt get the better of us!

Soft, Radiant and Long Lasting Spring Make-up

As the weather has started to warm up, I'm loving wearing make-up that looks quite simple, but I do still like my foundation to have good coverage and staying power. I also need quite a bit of help to brighten my dark under-eye bags that come from a crappy nights sleep #MumLife

5 Most Popular Pushchairs

Since becoming a mum I have become obsessed with pushchairs. I never thought this would happen, but I don't ever find myself checking out other women's clothes any more...oh no...I'm now oohing over their pushchair!

So, I thought I'd compile a list of the nicest looking and most popular pushchairs which other mum's have raved about and that I am just a little jealous I don't have.

The first four are travel systems and the fifth is more like a stroller, although it does have a newborn nest you can buy for it!

One Year Old | Baby Update

I thought I'd be an emotional wreck on James' birthday, but it was the lead up to it that was worse! I do look back at his newborn photos and reminisce, but I love his growing character and personality; I also love how much easier it is now! Although the sleepless nights are still very much with us, it's not quite as bad - the feedings are shorter, there's no burping and no poo explosions!

I Have a One Year Old? ..Bring on the Toddler Years!

Everyone is probably fed up of hearing me go on about how I can't believe James is now a one year old...but what the!? Where did the time go!?

Being a Parent is Hard

I'm currently trying to put James to bed....this can sometimes take an hour and is probably the most stressful part of my day!

Being a mum is amazing, but it's not what I expected! I looked at stay-at-home mums and thought 'what do you mean you don't have time, you have all the time in the world'. How fricking naive I was!!

Converse & Ripped Jeans | Mummy and Baby Style

I've got into the habit of just throwing on the same thing, day after day; I've got lazy and disorganised, but have decided it's time to make a bit more effort and actually wear some of the other items I have in my wardrobe!

My plan of action is...lay out outfits for both James and I the night before - then even in my sleepy, bedraggled state, I can just chuck them on quickly!

This outfit is not exactly inspired...but it's a lot more thought out than most days. I even tried to match us together!

How to Survive Sharing a Bedroom with your Baby

Every night when my husband and I go to bed, we quietly creep into the bedroom. I place my drink on the bedside table, plug my phone in and ever so slowly get into bed! It's all going to plan...there's no movement from the cot, the baby is still fast asleep. Phew!! If only it could go like this every night!

James is almost eleven months old, and I moan about sharing a bedroom most every day now! I do love being so close to him, but having to creep in each night in the dark and cough into a pillow is a bit of a pain.

Today, I thought I'd share with you some tips that have helped us.

Planning a First Birthday Party | Peter Rabbit Theme

The second I saw pictures of Peter Rabbit parties, I was hooked on the theme. There are so many different and easy ways you can decorate your garden or home!

Combating Oily Skin and Large Pores | Spring Skincare

It is now officially Spring, so I thought it was time to do another skincare post.

With the warmer weather approaching (and my changing hormones), my skin is getting slightly oilier so I've added in a few products to keep blemishes and large pores at bay.

Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2-in-1 Mask
This contains Salicylic Acid to exfoliate dead skin cells and can be used as a face wash or a mask. It's definitely one of my all time favourite products because it is just so cheap and does a bloody good job at clearing up blemishes! The only downside to it, is that it can leave my skin a little dry or irritated if used too often.

How to Introduce Lumps and Texture to your Baby | Weaning

Adding lumps and texture to your babies purees can sometimes be a challenge as they've been used to a purely liquid diet for so long.

They may cough, splutter, gag and then spit everything back out at you.

This is how I introduced James to texture from about 7/8 months:

The Miracle 360 Trainer Cup by Munchkin

I feel like I need to start by saying, I bought this with my own money! I know I myself can be quite sceptical with reviews nowadays, but in this case, I just felt like writing about a product that I quite like...

What is the Miracle 360?
- A 100% leak and spill proof cup that has a 360° design, which allows drinking from anywhere around the rim.
- The fact that it is spout free means it is better for teeth, supports normal muscle development in your child's mouth and helps the transition to a regular drinking cup.

Eleven Months Old | Baby Update

With each month that passes I find it harder and harder to write these updates. I think it's because so much changes all the time that it's difficult to remember.
