Barry M Lilac Foil Nail Paint

Popped into Superdrug the other day to have a browse and I spied something wondrous...

Displayed at the top of the Barry M counter was a shiny new polish! And you could get it for free if you spent over £6 on Barry M products. You can imagine my excitement.

When I got it home and tried it out I was in awe. This has to be one of the nicest, most flattering polishes for my skin tone. It's a cool lilac that shimmers in the light. I especially love it when I've used a purple shampoo in my hair because the cool tones really compliment each other!

The only downside is that when applied the brush strokes do show up, but if you apply a top coat I'm sure it would even the polish out. And to be honest, the brush strokes can only be seen when you look at it up close.

I think this is a polish that is exclusive to Superdrug so you won't be able to get it anywhere else. I couldn't even find it on the Barry M website. It also says that it is limited edition, which makes me want to buy back-ups...is that absolutely ridiculous?

Have you tried this or any of the foil nail paints?

The Primark shirt and EBay Biker!

I stumbled across this faux leather biker jacket on EBay while searching for Taylor Momsen in the clothing and fashion section (I love her style!). It was a while ago now and after having a poke around on EBay this morning, I can't find the exact version but I will link you to some similar items at the bottom of this post. Or you could search for 'stud biker jacket' and see what comes up.

On the label it says Topshop but it was sent from China and cost £25...so I have a feeling it's not actually from Topshop, but the quality is fantastic nevertheless.

As for the shirt...I never thought I would suit or even like a shirt in this style...
But as soon as I tried this on and buttoned it up, I was sold! This particular shirt is from Primark and cost £10, but they're available in many other shops such as Topshop.

Biker Jacket - EBay (Similar version - could only find one item and it's not that similar)

Collared

Internet connection as been so shoddy the past few days, so it's been hard for me to go on Blogger and YouTube. But I finally got it working today, so I'm posting this quick before it goes again.

I wore this outfit last week (some may recognise from my video a few days ago)... I'm loving pairing shirts with jumpers. Although this jumper isn't the best to wear this way as it falls off my shoulder constantly!

I adore this shirt from Primark. I've found quite a few tops in Primark recently that I fell for instantly (will be putting up a haul on my channel soon, that is, unless my internet connection poops out again!).

Knitted jumper - Boohoo
Shirt - Primark
Black jeans - Gap
Biker Boots - Blink at Asos
Necklace - Forever 21
Bracelets - Forever 21, holiday purchases and EBay

The moisturiser that does it all!

How do I begin to say how much I adore this product?

It's my 'can't live without' moisturiser that I never quite realised was so essential in my life...Sound a tad dramatic?

The answer to that is probably yes...but nevertheless it's true! And here is why:

1) As you may be able to tell by the name of the product - Boots Soltan Aftersun Hydrating Lotion - it is a cooling, soothing moisturiser for after tanning or as is often in my case, burning!

2) It's hypoallergenic, which means it's great for those with sensitive skin.

3) It's the only thing that soothes when I have eczema or seriously dry skin.

4) It doesn't block pores, so is great for all areas of the body.

5) It's a light moisturiser that sinks in quick and leaves no greasy residue.

6) It also contains 'gentle, odourless protection from insects' ... hmm? Maybe this works for some, but not for me! Mosquitoes never leave me alone, no matter what! But still, it's the fact that they've included this that is so great.

7) It has a very subtle fragrance that I've never got sick of, even after many years and owning many bottles!

8) It only costs £5.99 (£4.99 without bug protection) and it's often on 2for1 deals!

Have you ever tried Soltan Aftersun? What's your favourite moisturiser that you couldn't live without?

Lacey short shorts!

Last Sunday I had a family party to go to and I was hating every single one of my dresses for one reason or another.

So instead I opted for lace shorts and a pretty, frilly blouse.
The shorts are a fairly recent purchase from H&M that I am loving as they're quite different than anything I own!

The only downside...they're a tad short, particularly with the splits on either side.

Blouse - River Island
Lace shorts - H&M
Leather Jacket - River Island
Faux fur stole - New Look
Necklace - Forever 21
Bracelets - Bought abroad in Lanzarote and Rhodes
Double Finger Cross ring - EBay

This outfit was a lot more girly than I would have liked..as you probably already know I love all things grungy...but it's hard to put together something for a fancy do.

Any suggestions or any grungy/rock formal outfits you've posted on your blog would be very welcome :)

A cheeky Chanel purchase

A few weeks back while on holiday in Lanzarote, I picked up two of the Chanel Illusion D'ombre eye shadows.

Now I know there have been tons of posts and videos on these shadows, but the two shades I picked up didn't seem to get as much attention as the infamous Illusoire.

Emerveille is a peachy, neutral shadow that brightens the eye.

While Epatant is a silver, shimmery shade that sparkles as it catches the light and is truly beautiful!

I particularly love using these on the inner third of my eye and using a slightly darker shadow on the outer two thirds.

But even on their own they give a shiny, glossy effect that looks very special and unique!

The only downside to these shadows is that the texture of each shadow is slightly different. While Epatant is smooth and creamy, Emerveille is slightly more chunky and harder to apply. However, it doesn't affect the overall appearance of the shadow...so for me, I'm not too fussed!

Have you tried the Chanel Illusion D'ombre shadows? Have you tried any product that gives a similar effect as these?

Untitled

Went to Oxford Street Primark this morning...and let me tell you, it was not fun! The amount of people in there and the lack of manners -  my gosh!! I cannot tell you how many people shoved past and didn't say sorry or excuse me.

So from now on I will be travelling out of London for my Primark fix... I'm already planning a trip to Lakeside sometime soon. **Big cheesy grin**.

What's the Primark near you like? Anyone been to the one in the new Stratford Westfield?

And now for the outfit...

This tartan shirt from La Redoute is one of my favourites. It's insanely soft and the perfect thickness for winter - not quite fleece, but thicker than a typical cotton shirt. They sell this in a grey check version as well and I'm very tempted!

I'm not sure whether you can quite make out the skull necklace I'm wearing (will definitely post some better photos soon), but it's made by the brand Alchemy and the boy bought it for me at this year's Sonisphere festival. If you like metal/gothic style jewellery you should check them out because they have a fantastic range that has me going gaga!

Back to basics

If you were to pick an outfit that you wear to death, what would it be?

Without a doubt, for me it would be a biker jacket, t-shirt, jeans and boots.

This jacket is from River Island and I would say it's like a mix between a blazer and a biker...the perfect leather jacket for evenings or nights out.

As for these jeans...

They're probably the most uncomfortable trousers I own! The reason for this is that they have stirrups at the bottom, which means they go lovely and skinny at the ankle, but hurt like a B! The only solution is to put long-ish socks on first...but this doesn't always work if you're doing a lot of walking!

Jacket - River Island
T-shirt - Asos
Jean Leggings (with stirrups) - Gap
Leather boots - Asos
Jewellery - Asos and Ebay
Nail polish - Lincoln Park After Dark by OPI

I hope you've all had a lovely weekend.

The Fifth

A few weeks ago I wrote about the black Kate Lace Body from Asos. I had been searching for something similar to it after seeing Millie Mackintosh from Made in Chelsea wearing a gorgeous lace top from The Kooples.

Anyway, seen as I'm obsessed with lace, I also bought it in white.

Lace body - Asos
Cardigan - H&M
Shorts - H&M
Leather biker - Oasis
Black hoody - H&M
Boots - New Look
Jewellery - Forever 21, Primark, H&M and GiftGirls

Please excuse my lack of writing in this post...I'm incredibly tired today. Me and the fiance went out yesterday for Bonfire night and our 2yr 2month anniversary - we try to do something every 5th (possibly a bit strange, I know!). Anyway, I had a few drinks, ate lots of Italian and inevitably feel pretty sluggish today so just spent my Sunday lying about watching Gossip Girl.

I hope you've all had a lovely weekend

Addicted to Nars lip glosses!

When it comes to lipgloss, for me, no-one does it better than Nars. I've found a few contenders, in particular L'oreal's 6h Glam Shines, but on most occasions I find myself reaching for Nars.

I know they're not cheap and they haven't got the nicest scent, but the texture just can't be beat. They are by far the creamiest lip gloss I've ever used, and they never go sticky.

At the moment I own two full size glosses and four of the mini double ended glosses - which came in a set for about £30-£35.

(For those of you who love lots of pictures, this post is going to be loaded with swatches!)

Striptease, Chihuahua, Orgasm, Pillowtalk, Sandpiper, Stolen Kisses, Greek Holiday, Misbehave, All Night Long, Turkish Delight.

Striptease - Pearlized beige sheen

Chihuahua - Guava

Orgasm - Peachy pink with shimmer

Pillowtalk - Azalea pink

Sandpiper - Shimmering amber coral

Stolen Kisses - Sparkling caramel pink

Greek Holiday - Sparkling pink sand

Misbehave - Sheer cherry red with gold shimmer

All Night Long - Dusty raspberry

Turkish Delight - Pink sorbet

Looking at the swatches, it's hard to say which would be my favourite. But in terms of what I wear the most, it has to be Orgasm. It's a really flattering peachy tone that makes your lips look full and luscious!

What do you think of Nars lip glosses? Any shade suggestions?
